Presentation title: Safe water is good for business, the environment – and global stability
Presentation description: WaterStep, a global leader in safe water technology and innovation, has developed simple tools and effective training to guide and empower people, communities, businesses, NGOs, and governments to solve their own water and sanitation needs both in the developing world and following disasters. At a time when water scarcity and natural disasters are on the rise because of climate change, WaterStep is creating solutions that are not only good for the environment and community stability but also for business. WaterStep’s patented technology addresses cost, distribution, and scalability. When water is safe and available, there is more prosperity, safety and security, and overall health.
About WaterStep:
WaterStep is a non-profit organization that focuses on sustainable solutions to the world’s WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene) crisis. Since 1995, WaterStep has evolved from a small service organization to a global leader in safe water solutions and innovation. WaterStep has developed simple tools, patented technology, and effective training to empower people and communities to solve their own water and sanitation needs. We provide expert solutions for places where infrastructure is fragile and execution challenges are particularly difficult, especially in slums, rural villages, and in communities responding to natural and manmade disasters. WaterStep combines safe water and disinfectant technology, and health and hygiene education because safe water in a dirty cup is no longer safe, and dirty hands spread disease. Our technology offers scalable safe water and disinfectant access during disasters because no one should have to worry about whether their water is safe during an emergency.
At WaterStep, we believe that every person deserves to reach their full potential, and that lack of access to safe drinking water, sanitation, and hygiene means missed school and work, malnutrition, sickness, and unnecessary death. We know that making safe water and disinfectant shouldn’t require a chemist or an engineer but that solutions to bring permanent change to thousands can often be expensive and hard to access. WaterStep has the answer. We teach people how to use salt, nearly any source of water, and a 12v power source to make safe drinking water for the long term. WaterStep’s system – training, patented technology, and innovation – is simple, sustainable, and scalable, which allows communities to affordably provide safe water and disinfectant for themselves for good.
