This month we are excited to have guest speakers Russell Riggs and Erin Stackley who will be speaking about Top Advocacy Issues Affecting the Real Estate Industry.

Russell Riggs is the Director of Environmental and Sustainability Policy with the National Association of Realtors in Washington, DC. For the past 27 years, Russell has advocated on behalf of Realtors on energy, environment, sustainability, property rights, and natural resource issues before Congress and federal regulatory agencies.

Russell also serves as the Advocacy Liaison to the Realtors Land Institute, the Global and Business Affairs Group and the Resort and Second Home Group.

Prior to his position with NAR, Russell held positions with the U.S. Department of Energy, the National Governors Association and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection.

Russell holds a Bachelor’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, and Master’s Degrees from Tufts University and New York University.

He resides with his family in Falls Church, VA.

Erin Stackley is the Director of Commercial and Policy Oversight at the National Association of REALTORS®. She has been with NAR since 2012. She handles NAR’s commercial federal issues, including commercial real estate financing, small business programs, and rental housing issues, as well as coordinating the overall policy agenda across issue areas for NAR. She is the staff executive for the Public Policy Coordinating Committee, the Commercial Federal Policy Committee, and the Single Family Investment Management Committee.

Erin received her B.A. in Political Science from James Madison University, and her J.D. from George Mason University School of Law. She is a member of the Virginia State Bar.

Prior to joining NAR, she held positions in the House of Representatives and the Department of Defense, and for the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB).
