This CGBN webinar brings three experienced professionals with information on how commercial real estate deals in the US can be funded using out of US investors. Our speakers are Bill Caton, principal at Caton Commercial Real Estate in Naperville Illinois, Paul Lloyd, CEO of Iron Layer Security, of Warrenville, Illinois, and Bill Price of Aaronberg Goldgehn Davis and Garmisa in Chicago and Wheaton, Illinois.

Bill Caton will tell you about how realtors get together in international meetings to talk to other realtors, promoters, and finance sources about their markets and deals.

Paul Lloyd will talk about how to develop contacts on LinkedIn who may be interested in your deals.

William Price will talk about SEC and international jurisdiction rules for raising money from public and private sources, and about EB-5 and other US visas that can be available to add value to your deals for international investors.

Bill Caton

Founder, Partner, CEO and Managing Broker of Caton Commercial Real Estate Group Bill Caton’s background in the service industry spans more than 40 years. Bill specializes in commercial development, farmland sales, 1031 exchanges, and commercial and industrial leasing and sales. More recently, Bill has been working with QUARTERS, a Germany based co‐living company focused on expanding into several Central Business Districts throughout the United States. Bill is Past President and a Board Member of the Northern Illinois Commercial Association of Realtors and is on the NICAR Board of Directors. Bill was the Charter Chairman of NICAR’s Commercial Global Business Council. In addition, Bill is part of the Illinois Realtors (IR) where he has served as Chairman of the Commercial/Industrial/Investment Committee and IR Global Committee. Bill is currently a member of the Global Working Group, the Public Policy & Government Affairs Member Involvement Group, and is a major investor in the REALTORS Political Involvement Committee.  Bill is also a Commercial Committee member of NAR and FIABCI.

Bill Caton specializes in commercial development, farmland sales, 1031 exchanges, and commercial and industrial leasing and sales. He lists and sells hotels, commercial land, farms, retail centers, and commercial lots. More recently, Bill has been working in the area of multi-family master leasing and sales. He has developed a platform for innovative international concepts wishing to expand their operations into the United States. He worked with QUARTERS, a Germany based co-living company focused on expanding into several Central Business Districts throughout the United States.

Bill has served two terms as President of the Plainfield Rotary, and is a founding member of the Kiwanis Club of Plainfield. Additionally, Bill is an on-going member of the Plainfield Chamber of Commerce for Economic Development Council, a member of the Chicago Farmers Association, Will County Farm Bureau, and the Illinois Society of Professional Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers. He is an investor and past board member of Will County Center for Economic Development Council.

William A. Price

Bill Price is an attorney in private practice in Warrenville, Illinois. He is the 2012 recipient of the ISBA Section of General Practice “Tradition of Excellence” award.
He was the 2014-16 Chairman of the Institute for Illinois Business Laws, in which capacity he chaired the subcommittees that wrote both versions of the state Limited Liability Companies Act. He served as the 2007-08 Chairman for the Corporation, Securities, and Business Law Section Council of the ISBA, and is a 2016-2017 member of that Section Council. Mr. Price is a 2016-2017  member of the Administrative Law Section Council, for which he is general editor for the 2007 edition of the ISBA Handbook of Illinois Administrative Law, and edits the Section newsletter. He has also chaired that Section Council.
He was appointed by Governor Edgar and confirmed by the Illinois Senate as the state Small Business Utility Advocate. He also has taught courses in private equity and venture capital project financing at the Stuart Graduate School of Business, Illinois Institute of Technology.
Books by Mr. Price include Limited Liability Organizations (Specialty Technical Publications, Vancouver, BC), which covers all forms of business entity in the 50 states and many foreign countries and Illinois Law Office Practice Forms (Michie Co., 1995), which provides a forms set for use in business, real estate, and family estate matters for Illinois law offices.
He is a 1978 graduate of Duke University School of Law, and holds a Masters in Public Policy Sciences from Duke issued that year, as well. He is a 1974 graduate (Magna Cum Laude) of the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
